Abstract

In this research we have analyzed the participation of native and foreign families in primary schools in the Region of Murcia. For it, has been administered a questionnaire of 18 Likert-type questions to 1932 families. The results indicate the presence of three groups of families according to their degree of participation: A first group, composed of native families characterized by more intense participation in parent meetings, school activities, the AMPA, in the schools of parents, in tutoring; a second group, which is the group of foreign families and remains at average levels of participation, although with a trend towards lower values of participation in relation to the first group; and a third group, which also includes native families, characterized by low intensity participate in any school where your child is enrolled. The research concludes with a set of proposals for improvements aimed at increasing participation among families and the school.
