Abstract

The principle of equality in education presents new defiance in the XXI century, as a consequence by the impact for the appearance of the two new phenomena of globalization and postmodernism, that put in risk the educational excellence in equality conditions, the main objective of the original model of comprehensive school. The new context of neoliberalism and relativism put in doubt the existing metanarratives in the Modernity, and have developed new challenges to the traditional model of comprehensive school, model that has traditionally enbodied in Spain the principle of equality in educaction in their two concepts, weak and strong, of social equality.
