Academic cartography of Comparative Education in present-day Spanish universities

Abstract

In general, in recent years, within the initial training of education professionals in the university level, and, particularly, in the degrees of Pedagogy, Social Education, Primary Education and Early Childhood Education Teaching, the Comparative Education has established as a core course in the academic curriculum. In this context, it becomes determinant to know the current situation of this academic field in the mentioned university degrees in education, once the implementation of the European Higher Education Area has been made. It is from this approach that the study also offers a comparative analysis of the state of this discipline after the Bologna reform process in Spain, with respect to the previous situation, aiming to review the real evolution that comparative education has experimented over the last years.
