Iberoamerican Review of Digital Education (RIED)

RIED-Revista Iberoamericana de Educación a Distancia is a biannual, open access scientific journal, bilingual (since 2024) reviewed by blind peers and edited by the Iberoamerican Association of Higher Distance Education (AIESAD). RIED promotes the international dissemination of advances in research and development in the context of open and distance teaching/learning, e-learning and educational technology, preferably in university contexts. RIED does not have any article submission charges or article processing charges (APCs).

The emergence of generative Artificial Intelligence, through tools such as ChatGPT, is reshaping virtual learning environments and educational frameworks at all levels. This issue of RIED offers a broad and critical perspective on the challenges, opportunities, and experiences associated with the use of these emerging technologies in higher education, with particular attention to ethics, teacher training, student perceptions, and sustainability.
