Abstract

ABSTRACT

Tutoring has become particularly relevant in the university educational process following approval RD1393/2007 in the Spanish context. The use of "support and guidance to the student" during his studies and access to employment as one of the criteria for verification of degrees  has brought about a revolution to this area of work. Our study aims to show the importance of "tutoring" in Higher Education, for the acquisition of skills for students, and for optimizing performance rates in the teachings. Surveys based on satisfaction indicators were designed and applied to the student population for intervention, during 2010/2011, at the Faculty of Education at the University of Salamanca, in the context of the first implementation of the mentoring program for freshmen. Specifically, the paper analyzes the factors that produce high satisfaction freshmen of Education Degree in a Spanish university, after a process of tutoring or academic degree. The results point to the prioritization of affective factors and methodological adequacy in student satisfaction.
