The circumstances in which are developed the labour of management school in Spain contrast with the situation that is given in three countries of our closer environment. United Kingdom, France and Italy, where headteacher are outlined as an attractive career where always you can find volunteers to cover the places, where the hard processes of selection or working conditions do not discourage so much candidates. The key question that we approach in this article is what elements inside the professional structure of the management school favour or impede its task. We will centre on analyzing the slope of the working conditions of the management school in public centres of Elementary Education and Secondary Education in four countries in which educational systems have lived changes in the beginning of the millennium; at the moment the first signals of the results of the impelled reforms are being seen.
