Sargadelos iron works (Lugo province) pioneered industrialisation in Northern Spain. Its roots can be traced throughout the Enlightenment’s economics but present some oddities which are connected with the development of the Industrial Revolution. This article will research its history, comprising eight decades under several managements, as well as its architecture. The good shape of the factory’s remains allows us to reconstruct the buildings and their evolution, reflecting its condition of link between two very different eras.
