Assessment of entrepreneurial competence in Higher Education: design and validation of a questionnaire

University seeks to provide personalized education in entrepreneurship, equipping students with essential skills for the world of work. However, despite the growing interest in this field, training and assessment remain insufficient, making the promotion of entrepreneurship crucial to empower students and prepare them for changing entrepreneurial challenges. In this context, the present work aims to design and validate a questionnaire to assess entrepreneurial competence in higher education. After an exhaustive review of various theories and based on professional experience, 4 dimensions are proposed in which psychometric components are analyzed in terms of reliability and validity, using a sample of 350 university students. The results showed adequate content validity, which was confirmed through a process of evaluation by experts. Likewise, reliability studies and confirmatory factor analysis provided satisfactory results. In summary, it can be affirmed that the instrument meets the technical requirements necessary to be considered a valid and reliable tool for the assessment of entrepreneurial competence. This work also lays the groundwork for future research that will contribute to the measurement of entrepreneurship in educational environments, thus consolidating its importance as a reference resource.
