The socio-occupational insertion of young people is an issue that concerns both teachers and professionals because it has important implications for the construction of the generational future. The social educators need of knowing and deepening in the possibilities of tools aimed at professional performance represents one of the current challenges in the academic and professional field. In this article, we offer an empirical study carried out during the development of programs for the socio-occupational insertion of young people which were framed in the social integration plans of the region of Castilla -La Mancha. We started with the objective of knowing the perception that the young people have about the training they received in order that social educators could establish the most appropriate itineraries in the processes of transition from training to the job market. For this purpose, it was administered a questionnaire on social and personal factors for the socio-occupational insertion of young people, and the results showed that personal satisfaction will be one of the main reasons for taking part in the training and the intrapersonal dimension, aimed to the collaboration, together with the interpersonal dimension, oriented to initiative and responsibility, were valued as relevant qualities to access an employment. The data provided relevant information about the key competencies according to the profiles of the students. In this way, some of the potentialities that the tool can deploy within the framework of social education were confirmed.
