Counselling in virtual learning environments

ABSTRACT
The history of human civilization runs parallel to the expansion of the new technologies. Their use in education and counselling must facilitate the necessary conditions for personalized attention to students gaining access to digital systems developed for this purpose, such as Virtual Learning Environments (EVE, in Spanish). This paper discusses these issues from a counselling perspective, it assesses interactivity fostered by EVE, reviews counsellors characteristics and virtual tutors, and contributes to the field from a prospective point of view.
