Death education is an emerging area of knowledge based on the need to include perennial or radical issues in the formation of human beings. So far, specific proposals for death education in people with intellectual disabilities are scarce. This article aims to place the possible normalization of death in the education of people with intellectual disabilities in all stages of the life cycle on the quality of life model (Schalock and Verdugo, 2002, 2007), so that death education can contribute to the quality of life. The work is part of an ongoing investigation project that aims to contribute to the development of a death education in people with intellectual disabilities. It also describes methodological approaches and appropriated resources to introduce death from an educational projection. Finally, are described the main conclusions of the article, regarding the relevance of the training of professionals supporters or possible developments in the near future for the articulation of a death education to children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities.
