In 2004, the Spanish Institute of Historical Patrimony in collaboration with the town council of Embid, agreed to address the urgent need of restoration of the castle of Embid. Its condition was such that was it was threatened by ruin, much greater than the one it endured after the northeast tower came down in the 90’s. The tower of the homage was about to disappear entirely. The Ministry of Culture commissioned the project and the restoration to the architect Pedro Ponce de Leon. This article is the result of the commission for the project. In 2006 the restoration ended and with it the recovery of the whole set was about to disappear. In the future its preserved remains would probably provide more insight to an incomplete episode.
