THE ROLE OF THE UNED IN THE TRANSITION TOWARDS THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY IN COSTA RICA

In postmodern times, when all the channels of communication allow meaningful advances in order to overcame the inconveniences of teaching at a distance, it is convenient to check the role of universities in that particular mode of education. That is way this article analyzes the Costa Rican society and identifies the actions where UNED is relevant from a social perspective, actions that would lead to a fair and sustainable development, but also place the UNED in a strategic center for the solution of social problems.
