Abstract

ABSTRACT

In the current crisis situation in which we find ourselves, vocational guidance must meet, to a greater extent and taking into account the various factors that cause the labor situation worse, the professional needs of the adult population, and guide your training and/or employment route for its subsequent inclusion in the labor market, in accordance with their personal characteristics. The objectives of the descriptive study presented are identifying orientation needs perceived in adulthood and examine whether there are significant differences in relation to the age of the surveyed women. The sample of the study, conducted in 2012, is composed of 310 Galician women in working age, of which 50 have less than 25 years; 55 are between 25 and 30 years; 159 women have between 31 and 45 years, and 46 women are older than 45 years.. The data were collected through a questionnaire designed ad hoc by researchers of the interuniversity project ORIEM, which has been conducted in five regions (Andalucía, Aragón, the Canary Islands, Castilla-León and Galicia). The results obtained indicate a high-intermediate level of needs in dimensions: self-exploration, training, decision-making, job search, management and project implementation. There are significant differences with the variable age in the various dimensions.
