Geographic distribution of study intention in high-school students of Mexico’s valley university

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Study intention is the student´s educational aspirations and interests. It is the first step to make a possible career professional choice. This study identified the most intentional career choice and its distribution in University of the Mexican Valley geographical regions. The design was transactional and descriptive. Throw a survey applied to 3,336 High-school students into the university system. Results show four professional intentional career choices: Law, Psychology, Administration and Architecture. For each geographical region distribution was Law in Mexico City, Center and Mexico’s State. North region prefers Administration. South prefers Architecture. This concentration into four careers choice means a problem in vocational guidance in High-school and a reason to change delivery process to give vocational guide to students.
