In the current context of educational research, bibliometric analysis emerges as an essential tool for understanding the trends, patterns, and dynamics of scientific production in this discipline. The need to synthesize and evaluating the vast amount of existing literature in education has led to the increasing adoption of bibliometric approaches, which allow the identification of areas of interest, prominent researchers, and the temporal evolution of topics. For this study, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis was carried out, using quantitative techniques to analyze a comprehensive sample of academic articles in the field of education. Bibliographic data were collected from various academic databases, such as Web of Science and Scopus, and inclusion criteria were applied to select the relevant articles for analysis. The findings revealed a significant increase in the use of mixed methodological approaches in Educational Research, suggesting a trend towards integrating quantitative and qualitative methods to address complex research questions. Additionally, an increase in international collaboration among researchers in the field of education was observed, highlighting the increasingly globalized nature of research in this area. Although bibliometric analysis offers essential insights into scientific production in education, it is crucial to recognize its possible limitations, such as dependence on specific databases and inherent biases in study selection. However, despite these limitations, bibliometric analysis remains a valuable tool for researchers and education professionals, providing critical information for informed decision-making and identifying priority research areas.
