The aim of this research is to analyse how castles help to structure a manorial state as space of power, based in the particular example of the manorial state of the Feria during the 15th century. For this, we will analyse how the function assigned to a fortification within the territorial structure imposed at manor determines its architectural configuration. Accordingly, we will see into how the organization of the space between a centre and a periphery generate two types of castles. Furthermore, the promotion of manor to county, will help to define the identity of the lineage, doing of the castle of Feria a symbolic centre.Downloads
