The inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market goes beyond the economic sphere, impacting on their emotional, mental and social well-being. Work not only provides income, but also dignity, self-esteem and counteracts stigma. Anti-discrimination laws guarantee equal opportunities and reasonable accommodation in the workplace. Job coaches are essential, offering personalised guidance and facilitating integration into the workplace. The scientific review highlights the importance of employment and entrepreneurship for people with disabilities, the role of job coaches and legislative challenges. The research was conducted using platforms such as Web of Science, Eric and Scopus, selecting 20 relevant articles. It is concluded that access to the workplace improves the quality of life of people with disabilities, promoting inclusion and diversity. However, current legislative challenges such as the lack of recognition of job coaches and legal ambiguity are obstacles that require urgent attention. Along these lines, it is proposed that a legislative framework be created to regulate the profile of job coaches and to move towards greater coverage of their guarantees and recognition of their work with this group, enabling access to jobs under equal conditions and providing the necessary support for their full inclusion. Such recognition is essential to move towards a more inclusive and equitable society in the labour market.
