Abstract

This article presents a constructivist view of narcissism, conceived as a deficit in the process of differentiation of the self. Assimilative function of selfishness is considered the cause of the absence of empathy in the narcissistic personality. Modalities that can take the narcissism are subdivided into three types known as aristocratic, meritocratic and plutocratic ones.
