In the present paper a case of major depression is presented and is treated from an integrationist, humanistic orientation. The central theme of the paper is the demonstration of how distinct models of psychotherapy may be combined in the treatment of a given case, although at different stages in the therapy one particular therapeutic orientation or intervention might appear to dominate. The justification for the use of more than one therapeutic model or intervention is explicitly articulated within the systemic (Bertalanffy) and holistic schools of psychotherapy. Among those models most utilized are Focussing, Gestalt Psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis, and Psychodrama, all of which are usually employed within a Rogerian-type relationship.
