First RIED number in current format
Vol. 1 No. 1 (1998)The RIED-Revista Iberoamericana de Educación a Distancia, previously called the Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia, begins a new stage. All the issues of that predecessor journal, since 1988, are digitized and open, from this official site of RIED.

Vol. 8 No. 2 (1996)Since 1988, Vol. 1(1), this journal has been published with a different format and under the name of Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia (Ibero-American Journal of Distance Higher Education in Spanish). The AIESAD, the journal’s publisher, aimed to give it a boost by reinforcing all the scientific parameters that could allow RIED to position itself as a well-regarded journal in international indexes and databases in the future. Thus, starting in 1998, the journal adopted a new format and tougher requirements for the articles that would be published. All volumes, both of the old and new formats, are available in open access, online, on this official RIED website.
