Abstract

Different religious and philosophical approaches to death and pain are considered in this article. Hinduism, Buddhism, Ancient and New Testament as main religious traditions, as well as philosophical movements from Epicure to Stoicism and Humanism are reviewed. The main conclusion is that as death and pain are consubstantial to existence we must to learn to accept and live with.
