Author Biography

Giuliana Fazzion, Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. James Madison University (USA)

Giuliana Fazzion is Professor of Italian and Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures at James Madison University. She holds a Ph.D. in Modern Foreign Languages, with major concentration in Italian and minor in French language and literature. She has taught Italian language and literature at Old Dominion University for seven years and Italian language, literature and culture at James Madison University for 20 years. For the last 12 years, she has organized conferences in global issues to which colleagues from James Madison University and others from national and international universities have participated. She has published articles on Italian literature, culture and politics, and several on global issues. Among her last publications are: Fluent in the Language of Service (2010) in Madison Magazine; Success and Failure of the Italian Risorgimento (2010) in Proceedings of the International Academy of Linguistics, Behavioral and Social Sciences; and was the translator of Torri d’Assedio e Cambiamento di Genere nel Tasso (Christopher Nixon, 2012) in Edibom (ed.) Forme, Volti e Linguaggi della Violenza nella Cultura Italiana (pp. 133-143) Brescia, Italy.
