La obra de Joan de Joanes ha sido, tradicionalmente, estudiada desde un punto de vista formal y son pocos los trabajos donde se la vincula al momento cultural en el que vivió. Esto ha provocado interpretaciones iconológicas poco acertadas en algunos de sus óleos. Por ello, en nuestro texto realizamos una nueva lectura del significado de la obra de El Bautismo de Cristo de la Catedral de Valencia partiendo de las relaciones existentes entre Joanes con el Venerable Agnesio y de ambos con la evangelización morisca.Downloads
