The promise of an education revolution seems to be arriving. The emergence of free online courses, supported by some of the most prestigious universities in the world, is changing the traditional paradigm of teaching and paid classroom courses. In this new environment, new challenges and opportunities for the research community must be addressed both pedagogically and technically, always focusing on the open environments.
