A continued increase in the intervention of forensic psychologists in our country, together with the spectacular rise in divorce rates, has made it increasingly common for forensic psychologists to intervene in family procedures, in particular to evaluate and assess the most appropriate system of custody for the children involved. The central issue in an assessment of child custody is to try to delineate the option that best meets their interests. In cases where one parent in litigation for the custody is immersed in a cult, the complexity of the evaluation will be higher. In this article we reviewed some of the factors involved, they will have to consider psychologists in these interventions and specific considerations for the conduct of the evaluation are offered.
