The expert knowledge of psychotherapists specialized in eating disorders.

Abstract

The aim of this article was to gain knowledge of expert psychotherapists in the treatment of eating disorders (ED). This was investigated through a structured interview and by systematical extraction of heuristic clinical decision-making of those psychotherapists who participated. The goal of the study was to perform an analysis of the participants’ knowledge in order to promote the improvement and optimization of the psychotherapeutic process and outcome.
