Mental states, metacognitive deficits and interpersonal cycles in dependency personality disorder

Although the Dependent Personality Disorder is one of the most frequent personality disorders is rarely considered in current clinical diagnosis. The similarity whit other clinical problems, the lack of specific symptoms and the appearance of good alliance in the first steps of therapeutic relationships are probably the causes of this phenomenon. The article presents a psychopathological model to describe the characteristic mental states of individual that suffer of the Dependent Personality Disorder, related to interpersonal relationships and metacognitive dysfunctions. All these questions are illustrated with literal transcriptions of different cases.
