Abstract

The aim of this article is to introduce the concept of “resignation of self-agent” as a transdiagnostic dimension and to analyze its implications in Psycho(patho)logy and Existential Therapy. For it, the work is divided in three parts. In the first part we analyze the presence of “resignation of self-agent” in the modern clinic and its relationship with the notion of hyper-reflexivity. The second part discusses some strategies and techniques that allow you to work the hyper-reflexivity and resignation of self-agent conditions. Finally, in the third part of this article, the objectives and key axis of the Existential Therapy are commented. We conclude that the “resignation of self-agent” can be taken like a common clinical condition inherent in Existential Therapy.
