Abstract

The article presents a review of the extant literature on critical research analysing the phenomenon of migrant smuggling. It examines approaches that challenge the prevailing, securitarian conceptions of migration, with a focus on the intricacies of smuggling networks and the necessity of comprehending them within a comprehensive socio-economic and political framework. The objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive literature review of critical research on migrant smuggling. This review will offer an in-depth and contextualized perspective on the phenomenon, synthesizing the diverse positions on the smuggling process.
