Este trabajo analiza las transformaciones que experimentó el panorama arquitectónico medieval en el priorato de Uclés durante el siglo XVI, centrándonos en los procesos de reforma que sufrieron las parroquias de Dosbarrios y Villanueva de Alcardete, dos edificios que en origen tenían el mismo modelo estructural, pero que fueron reedificados siguiendo planteamientos completamente distintos. Lógicamente, para realizar este análisis, se han revisando las fuentes estudiadas por otros investigadores, pero también se ha utilizado un importante volumen de documentación que permanecía inédita hasta el momento.
