Cognitive behavioral therapy applied to children and adolescents

Despite an increasing interest in the use of cognitive behavior therapy for children and adolescents, it is important to recognize that the empirical evidence and the theory basis we have with respect to this group of patients is limited in contrast with the adult population. We need theoretical cognitive models that a developmentally adequate and that explain the emotional and behavioral problems of children and adolescents.
