The present article develops the paper presented at the First International Congress of Psychology and Humanistic Psychotherapy, held in Barcelona in November 2015.The article presents a reflection about the ever-changing relationship between social, historical and cultural movements and the psychological and psychotherapeutic currents, based on the example of Transactional Analysis
On the basis of analysis of the postmodern society and its impact on the people in today’s Western World, a necessary theoretical revision of the transactional model is proposed to facilitate a better response to current social needs. It also proposes an integration of the theoretical body of Transactional Analysis from the perspective of complex systems.
