Abstract

In this article, relationship between attachment and eating disorders is reviewed for further analyzing mediator variables and implications of these results for psychotherapy. With a particular emphasis on function of therapeutic relationship and metacognition, mainly in the most severe cases, proposals are made for adapting psychotherapeutic process and handling difficulties from an individual and family differences in attachment perspective.
