Proyectos de cárceles en la Real Academia de Nobles Artes de Madrid (1826-1853)

Estudio de los proyectos de cárceles realizados por los aspirantes a los títulos de arquitecto y de maestro de obras en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando de Madrid entre los años 1814-1844. Se analiza en paificular el modelo de planta, que semeja un palacio fortificado. También se estudian en general los elementos arquitectónicos de todos los proyectos: la posible ubicación de las cárceles proyectadas en determinadas ciudades españolas, el empleo de los órdenes arquitectónicos, los patios, las celdas, el tribunal de justicia, la capilla, los talleres y los materiales a emplear Se finaliza con un estudio sobre estos aspirantes a los títulos de arquitecto y de maestro de obras: sus lugares de origen, formación y obras ya realizadas, y las diferencias existentes entre ambos.
A study on the projects of prisons performed by the architect and mater builders' applicants in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Madrid between the years 1814 and 1844. It is particularly analysed the floor model, which seems a fortified palace. It is also studied the different architectonic elements of the projects: the possible locations of the prisons projected in different Spanish cities, the use of the architectonic orders, the court yards, the cells, the court ofjustice, the chapel and the materials used. Finally, the places of origin, training and works performed by the different applicants are studied, and the differences among them are highiighted.
