Resumen

La experiencia traumática es una experiencia de terror e indefensión ante un estrés extremo. Genera la tendencia en la persona que la sufre a escapar del dolor que surge a través de la desconexión de esa experiencia en el momento presente. La propuesta de mindfulness es conectar de nuevo dentro y fuera, en el momento presente, a través de nuevas formas de relacionarse con dicha experiencia con aceptación y dejando ir, sin identificarse ni agarrarse a ella. En este texto se han descritos las aportaciones de mindfulness y muy especialmente la forma de adaptarlas al caso de las personas supervivientes de trauma. Mindfulness ofrece un camino prometedor para el tratamiento del trauma que incluye además, el autocuidado del terapeuta.
