Six different therapies which are being used to treat low self-esteem are reviewed. Though their clinical approach is very diverging, nevertheless, they all end up by improving patient`s self-esteem. To attempt to give a response to this question, we address this review in two parts. First, it is drawn and analyzed each therapy’s clinical profile -such as etiology, assumptions, therapeutic goals or treatment technics; and, in the second place, their specific action mechanisms are compared with respect to patient´s personal goals achievement -positioning them into a web of relations configured by personal competency and efficacy components. It is concluded that every therapy would turn out to be effective because, assumed they act just on one or two components, their effect then irradiates through the web from here to self-esteem.
