Yoga and dance integrated as strategies targeted at body awareness in amputees of the public force

The body awarness is a process of perception of the physical sensations and involve the self-knowledge and self-regulation, this is affected for the exposition to traumatic situations like the loss of the limb by a anti-personnel mine. The yoga and integrated danza allow incresing the body´s sensorimotor knowledge and contribute to the body awarness. The objetive is to explore the body awarness in men amputated from the public force belong to the Centro de Rehabilitacion Inclusiva (CRI) through a yoga and integrated dance program. This study was exploratory wotuh qualitative methodology and multimethod technique in which a group of 10 amputee men of lower limb participated, without cognitive, visual or auditory déficit, who voluntary participated in 10 classes of yoga and integrated dance. The Scale of Body Connection was used like a quantitative tool to amplify the knowledge with the semi-strcutured group interview evaluating the category of Body Awarness and Experience with the yoga and integrated dance practice. The outcomes allow to give a value to the quantitative individual result and in general to show that with the yoga and integrated dance create a space to amplify body awarness to increase the register of movements, favors the sensations of tranquility and freedom feeling which contributes to self.aceptance.Downloads
