Abstract

An integrative view of psychotherapy is given in this article, specifically a cognitive analytic model, based mainly on the Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), described by Anthony Ryle, though with some modifications. In order to frame the theoretical and technical aspects of this model, the historical background of CAT is also reviewed, giving special emphasis to the atempt of synthesizing behaviorism and psychoanalysis, which was alredy caried out in the past.
