Abstract

Quizás no haya en la teoría del arte un término más difícil e impreciso que el del decoro. Son muchos los que han abordado el estudio de este concepto resaltando los distintos matices que encierra y destacando, sobre todo, la artificíosidad de su aplicación. Bialostocki, Bertelli, Rensselaer y Blunt son algunos de los que han intentado aclarar los calificativos que abarca el decoro y cuál ha sido su campo de acción, llegando a la conclusión de que se trata de un vocablo que ha valido, más o menos, de cajón de sastre en el que tenía cabida acepciones como conveniencia, dignidad, honestidad, adecuación, además de otros muchos términos de semejante carácter.
