Abstract

After a brief account of some of the works that have considered formal aspects of the sonnet No me mueve, mi Dios, para quererte, we proceed to a detailed analysis of the versifi cation of the sonnet: forms of hendecasyllable (with Rengifo’s typologies, the traditional and that of Tomás Navarro Tomás), pauses, rhyme (with special attention to categorical rhyme), and rhythmic complements (style features halfway between metric and stylistics). It starts with the modern text-type proposed by P. Gabriel María Verd SJ in a recently published article. The results of the metric analysis serve as a support for aesthetic evaluations of the sonnet.
