Abstract

ABSTRACT

Educating in diversity is an important requirement of our educational system, as all students 'own characteristics must be taken into account in order to fulfill the education with greater efficiency and quality. The premises that support the educational attention to giftedness descend from the recognition and acceptance of individual differences. The gifted one is different as regards the cognitive potential, learning more, faster, in more depth and width. In this article, we aim to focus on the importance of the assessment as the proper procedure of identification of the individual characteristics of people who show high abilities. We also want to point out the importance of the instruments of measure and the most relevant sources of information related to the diagnostic evaluation. We will finish with some methodological considerations about the usefulness of the survey in different cases as strategy of investigation in order to gather the information, reach the search of meaning and make decisions.
