Abstract

In the last three decades psychotherapy has expanded trying to offer responses to the growing demandas for assistance, generated by the worsening of life conditions. Nowadays we count on many and varied options. This work explains the scopes and limitations found in the integrative movement proposal and presents the grounds for the unification in psychotherapy based on the assistance demand, the research interests and the critical problems of the clinical practice. The research focused on the patient represents the mayor effort achieved to overcome the gap between efficacy and efficiency studies. The models that emerge from this orientation are not centered in promoting a theoretical perspective nor any particular menu of techniques. They are directed to identifying principles that will help to find combinations between patients and therapists that will allow a better prediction of therapeutic results. The psychotherapy model applied en Aiglé es described in this article. This model shares the general principles with those models that follow a methodology aimed at improving the treatment results through sessions monitoring and giving the appropriate information to therapists in order to guide the therapy consecutive steps.
