Abstract

The following text corresponds to the translation of a lecture given by Vittorio Guidano, followed by a colloquium, to a group of psychotherapists and psychiatrists in training, presented and transcribed by Dr. Gianni Cutolo. The translation tries to maintain the oral style, avoiding some circumstantial references to the specific situation in which it occurred, which would be incomprehensible or cumbersome for the reader.
