Compassion Therapy is a third-generation psychotherapy that has been used associated with mindfulness these last years. There exist several compassion protocols, that have been developed in USA and Britain, like mindfulness protocols as well. As these countries has cultural characteristics and health systems quite different from Spain, it was necessary to develop compassion protocols more adapted to Spanish culture and health system, and that could be administered to both general population and to medical and psychiatric patients. This model is based on attachmente styles, a psychoanalytical concept that describes the relationship the children develops with their parents, and that will influence the interpersonal relationships that he will develop, and his/her own self-image. This paper described the scientifical basis of this model, the structure of the protocol, the scientifical evidence and the training programme of this model, the first autochtonous programme in any Spanish-speaking country.Downloads
