Clinical phenomena can be conceptualized according to three different levels (individual, interactional, and systemic). Every therapy has its focus of convenience at one of these levels. We propose that constructivist epistemology provides an integrated framework capable of operating at these different levels. Coming out from Kelly's Personal Construct Theory and from Systemic Constructivism, our proposal incorporates a wide set of intervention procedures (making the theory of the problem explicit, the conversational grid, family laddering, circular questioning, zig-zag questioning, several writing methods, the use of ritual, and the use of teams) which are discussed in this paper.
