Algunos ejemplos de utilización de IA en las asignaturas Introducción a la Estadística en el Grado de Turismo y Matemáticas para la Economía en el Grado de Economía

The aim of this work is to integrate Artificial Intelligence, particularly chatbots such as ChatGPT, into the university educational environment. Teaching experiences are presented from two courses: Introduction to Statistics in the Tourism degree and Mathematics for Economics in the Economics degree, both at the Universitat Jaume I. In these courses, open-source mathematical programs—R for statistics and GLPK for linear programming—are combined with the free version of ChatGPT (GPT-5.1).
Students learn to obtain precise instructions to apply subject-specific techniques through guided examples generated by ChatGPT following the same structure. In the case of Mathematics for Economics, the emphasis is placed on the modelling of optimization
problems, leaving the mechanical calculation to the software. ChatGPT acts as a facilitator by generating examples of GLPK syntax.
