NUEVAS APORTACIONES SOBRE DE LA DIMENSIÓN FEMENINA Y LAS LEALTADES POLÍTICAS EN LA HESPAÑA LIBERTADA DE BERNARDA FERREIRA DE LACERDA

Abstract

This study is about the work Hespaña Libertada, written by Bernarda Ferreira de Lacerda. The first part was published in 1618 and second posthumously in 1673. We focus mainly on two issues; firstly, if the fact that it is written by a woman has any kind of incidence in the writing, an issue that appeared in the recent studies from the 21^st century, and, secondly, the question about the authors intentions and loyalties regarding the Habsburg dynasty and the Portuguese and Castilian kingdoms, a discussion already present in classical studies. In this second aspect we discuss as well the fact that she, being Portuguese, published her work in Castilian.
