El cuadro Venus y Adonis de Veranes (Madrid, Museo del Prado) formó pareja con La Muerte de Procris (Musées des Beaux Arts. Estrasburgo).
The picture venus and Adonis, painted by Veronése (Madrid. Prado Museum) was a companion to the one with Tlie Death of Procris (Strasbourg. Musées des Beaux Arts). From Borghini (W riposo, 1584), all the scholars believe that this picture was a representation of Venus and tiie sieping Adonis. Otherwise the subject of picture is Cefalus and tlie breeze that Ovidius describes in the Metamorphosis.
