Los vidrios esmaltados catalanes (siglos XVI y XVII)

Dentro de la producción vidriera catalana de los siglos xv al xvii, los vidrios esmaltados ocupan el lugar más destacado, por su peculiaridad y calidad artística. Sabemos que Barcelona y Matará fueron los centros más prestigiosos en donde se manufacturó esta calidad de vidrio. No son muy numerosas las piezas conservadas, y aunque el mayor número está concentrado en Barcelona, el resto se encuentra disperso por otras ciudades españolas y extranjeras. Esta serie de objetos nos ha permitido hacer un estudio pormenorizado de la técnica del vidrio esmaltado catalán, siguiendo sus tipologías, y sobre todo, su decoración.
Among the Catalonian glass 'production during the xv to xvii centuries, the enamelled glasses are the most significant ones because of tfieir peculiarity and artistic quality. We know that the Barcelona and Mataró were the most prestigious centers where this quality of glass was manifactured. Only a few pieces are preserved and although most of them are concentrated in Barcelona, the rest are dispersed among other spanish and foreign cities.
